Commercial EV Charging
Risk Assessments
Safer Charging Limited is a trusted provider of commercial EV charging risk assessments, designed to ensure that your business is fully prepared to handle the unique challenges that come with electric vehicle (EV) charging.
As EV adoption continues to grow, businesses are increasingly required to implement safe and compliant charging infrastructure. We offer a comprehensive risk assessment service that identifies potential hazards, mitigates risks, and ensures that your company is aligned with the latest regulations and safety standards.
We can assist with your requirements in one of two ways:
Charge Point Audit
During our Charge Point Audit service, we conduct a thorough assessment of your charging estate. This inspection work is completed by expert assessors with years of industry experience. They understand how to look for the driver-facing requirements and behind-the-scenes technical aspects of EV charging. With experience across fleet, private workplaces, residential and public network charging, we have all enviroments well supported.
The audit is designed to give a comprehensive snapshot in time of existing charging infrastructure and highlight any challanges or improvement suggestions which could be implemented.
Charge point safety encompasses more than just electrical failsafes, we believe it comprises 5 key areas:

A Safer Charging Limited charge point audit covers all five of these important areas and is designed with clear, actionable output in mind. Each Charge Point Audit will include an EV Charging Compliance Report, which summarises any findings from the audit and can be used to show internal teams or third-parties that you are commited to providing quality, safety and a progressive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Fire Risk Assessment
A fire risk assessment (FRA) performed by a competent assessor, should form an integral part of any commercial, or managed residential, charge point installation.
What sets Safer Charging Limited's fire risk assessors apart is not only deep experience when assessing general property fire risk, but also an excellent understanding of electric vehicle charging. This is crucial when assessing areas for fire risk pre-install or post-install as there are unique challenges brought about by EV chargers which take a trained eye to identify.
Where improvement suggestions are noted, every effort will be made to provide clarity of mitigation measures and cost-effective alternatives should an initially considered area not be deemed suitable.
We are experienced in delivering RC59 assessments where this may be requested by your insurer or property manager. RC59 assessment is very broad and output gives a substantial quantity of information. Whilst this level of detail is good to have, it can mean there is difficulty in interpreting it. Safer Charging Limited combine an FRA with our Charge Point Audit to address this depth of detail, apply an in-depth site knowlege and output relevant, easy-to-interpret findings and actions.

By engaging Safer Charging Limited for your EV charging fire risk assessment, you can be sure of obtaining specific expertise in this industry niche. We often provide these assessments as supplementory exercises to existing fire risk assessments which either did not include EV charging or were lacking in experienced detail.
We provide additional value by overlaying the on-site findings of our fire risk assessors with our long-standing industry expertise in all EV charging environments. This means we can help you look beyond regulation, into day-to-day user experiences, hardware quirks, and future-gazing developments.
This information is presented to you in a concise, prioritised and actionable format. We give you the tools to make this part of your responsibilities as simple as possible.
What's included?
The detail of inclusion is determined by a few factors:
-
The type of site
-
Reason for prompting an FRA
-
Extent of existing FRA
-
Style and extent of output required
As there are some variables involved in quoting this work, pricing is offered on request.
