About Us

Independent EV charging experts

Safer Charging Limited is an independent maintenance and aftercare company keeping the UK's EV charging infrastructure safe, compliant, and operational.

Built on experience, driven by independence

Safer Charging Limited was founded with a clear purpose: to give businesses and site owners an independent, trustworthy partner for EV charging maintenance and aftercare. Based in Bedfordshire, we work with organisations across the UK who need their charge points looked after properly, without the conflicts of interest that come with manufacturer tied service providers.

We are hardware and software agnostic. That means we work with every charger brand, every back office platform, and every type of installation. Our certified EV experts bring deep technical knowledge and a genuine passion for doing things right.

We are SafeContractor, SSIP accredited professionals with combined leadership experience of 22 years in electric vehicle charging. What we don't know is probably not worth knowing. All resource deployed to sites is highly skilled, with NICEIC Approved Contractor status as a minimum.

"We're here to provide EV charging that just works, safely"

Every decision we make comes back to this. Whether we are maintaining a single charger or managing an entire estate, our goal is the same: safe, reliable charging that site owners and drivers can count on, every single time.

What sets us apart

Six principles that guide everything we do, from routine maintenance visits to large scale consultancy projects.

Industry Expertise

Our team are certified EV specialists with deep, hands on experience across every major charger brand and platform on the market today.

Safety First

Safety is not a checkbox for us. It is the foundation of every service we deliver, from risk assessments and compliance checks to routine maintenance.

Customer Centric Approach

We listen first and recommend second. Every client gets a tailored solution built around their specific needs, not a one size fits all package.

Efficiency and Uptime

Downtime costs money and frustrates drivers. Our proactive, audit-led approach catches issues before they become problems.

Nationwide Coverage

From single site businesses to multi location estates, we provide consistent, reliable service across the whole of the UK.

Comprehensive Solutions

Maintenance, risk assessments, consultancy, and CPO support. We cover the full lifecycle of your EV charging infrastructure under one roof.

Trusted where charging has to work

We are independent and manufacturer-agnostic, so we serve the whole estate rather than one hardware brand. Most clients come to us after being let down by an installer, an operator or a manufacturer.

Public sector & blue light

Police and fire fleets, NHS, local authorities and education, estates where uptime and compliance are not optional, and where evidence matters.

Commercial property

Property owners and managing agents who carry the compliance responsibility for chargers on their sites, often without a formal operator in place.

Fleet operators

From a handful of depot chargers to networks scaling toward thousands of sockets, needing dependable first and second-line response as they grow.

Charge point operators

CPOs who want maintenance and inspection handled as one technical discipline, so their networks stay compliant and available at scale.

EV installers

Installers who partner with us to give their clients aftercare, a collaborator on delivery, never a competitor for the install.

Charge point manufacturers

Manufacturers we support on inspection and rectification, and through the Charge Safe accreditation and inspection products we hold the licence to.

Accreditations and recognition

Our certifications and awards reflect our commitment to safety, professionalism, and excellence in EV charging services.

SafeContractor accredited

SafeContractor Certified

Recognised for meeting rigorous health and safety standards, giving our clients confidence that every job is carried out to the highest safety requirements.

SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) accredited

SSIP Accredited

Our Safety Schemes in Procurement accreditation demonstrates that we meet and exceed the core criteria for health and safety management.

Great British Entrepreneur Awards Finalist 2025 and 2026

GBEA Finalist

Selected as a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in both 2025 and 2026, recognising the innovation and impact of our work in the EV charging sector.

Working with the wider network

We are independent and manufacturer-agnostic, so we work alongside installers, schemes and specialists rather than against them, and we are always glad to make an introduction.

Referral partner

Charge Scheme

Charge Scheme is a salary sacrifice product for fleets moving to electrification, letting employees drive an electric vehicle from gross salary. We refer clients across where it makes the move to electric cheaper to fund.

Blue light · Police fleet

An estate no one else would take on

27 chargers · 8 sites · mixed manufacturers

The installer and operator had gone quiet, and the manufacturers would not engage because the hardware was out of warranty. Rather than a costly full swap-out, we adopted the estate. We began with a Charge Point Audit across all eight sites, then inside a week completed back-office migration, SIM changes, new RFID cards, fuel-card integration, alongside EICR and PPM testing and a livery changeover.

Result: an uptime the fleet had never reached under the previous operator, now held with proactive and reactive maintenance and full visibility of every unit.
Commercial property

A routine assessment that wasn't

6 × 7kW · private underground car park

It began as a routine fire risk assessment, which came back largely fine. The electrical inspection did not: the chargers had been so poorly installed that the whole installation had to be isolated on safety grounds. What looked like a few hundred pounds of routine work became a proper rectification.

Result: an estate that is now genuinely safe and compliant, not merely certified, and the clearest reason we pair the inspection with the fix.
Fleet operator · Scaling

Support that scales with the network

~150 → several thousand sockets

A fleet charging operator growing fast needed dependable first and second-line response as it scaled. We put in our Core Service Plan: intelligent proactive and reactive maintenance kept to minimal touchpoints, an annual inspection plus a lighter six-monthly RCD check, and a per-socket model where the unit cost falls as the network grows.

Result: predictable cost as they expand, with support treated as a technical discipline rather than a cost centre.
Blue light · Second force

Repeat work in a sector that's hard to win

Fire risk & site assessment · estate-wide

Fire risk and site assessment across a second police estate, with a maintenance programme now in the pipeline. Blue-light buyers do not hand work out lightly, and they do not stay unless the delivery holds up.

Result: a live relationship and repeat sector work, evidence that the standard travels from one estate to the next.
